Who are we?

Hi. I’m James Geer and I run the Music Theory School. When I’m not teaching theory I spend my time singing; I’m a professional classical tenor. I’ve performed operas at the Royal Opera House, songs at the Wigmore Hall and oratorios at the Royal Albert Hall. I sing in numerous pro choirs about the place, and am a regular member of the Academy of Ancient Music. Every Sunday I can be found in the choir stalls at St George’s Hanover Square, Handel’s old church. Increasingly though, my interest lies in teaching music. I teach singing (as well as theory!) at a preparatory school in the south of England and have a large private teaching practice. I am DBS checked.

I studied music at Oxford University and completed my Masters at Sussex. In addition I have performing qualifications from Guildhall School of Music and Drama and Royal Conservatoire of Scotland. I also have my Grade 5 theory, which I took in 19**!
